Andrea Allen,  recent move to Gualala has totally fulfilled her passion for being part of a fantastic art community and continuing her painting while looking out of her studio window at the magnificent ocean.  Allen is incredibly inspired to incorporate all these new visual and sensory experiences into her work, while continuing to utilize all the traditional Chinese techniques, balanced with a subtle contemporary flair.  Ancient symbolism and philosophy continue to influence Allen’s work, enhancing the feeling of vital energy and serenity.  The overall effect is for the viewer to be effortlessly invited into each painting, experiencing a peaceful balance and harmony in a timeless continuum.

Ling-Yen is well known in the northern California artist community for her expertly crafted, precious metal and semi-precious gemstone rings, pendants, brooches, necklaces, and earrings.

Many of her pieces are conceived in elegant, Oriental motifs, and constitute a hallmark of her unique artistic expression.

Ling-Yen’s jewelry is made to fit all ranges of a fine jewelry spectrum, from low-cost, casual everyday accessories, to that special, high fashion, treasure.

Jane paints in multiple layers of acrylics and various modeling pastes and plasters, sometimes adding textured or hand-printed papers, building colorful dimensional and complex surfaces with a more abstracted finish. She also makes hand-built ceramics adding whimsical birds flowers and animals to her pieces which are both sculptural and useful.
