SUMMARY:59th Annual Art in the Redwoods – Online! Sept. 30\, 2020
DESCRIPTION:Art in the Redwoods is holding to tradition with a wide range of art categories – everything from acrylics to weaving – and adding a new one\, video clips. Artists may enter up to five pieces\, and include multiple views of each piece\, all from the convenience of a computer or mobile device. \nOnline Gallery viewers will be able to purchase art online and have it shipped directly from the artist. \nArt awards will total more than $5\,000 this year\, all provided by local sponsors. Award-winning artwork will be selected by the Fine Art Exhibit judges. \nOn Thursday\, August 13\, our Hats Off dinner was transformed into a Boxed Hat Dinner to go. The four course dinner was enjoyed in the safety & comfort of our guests homes. Boxed Hat dinner featured fine food created by St. Orres under the guidance of Executive Chef Rosemary Campiformio. Boxed dinners were $150 (included a $100 donation letter).

DESCRIPTION:Not all is lost please see our virtual gallery tour. https://www.studiodiscoverytour.com/copy-of-artist-template-8 \nWe hope this will be moved to 2021. \nPlease visit me and Jane Head at Andrea Allen’s studio at 33620 Highway One Gualala\, CA 95445 \nPlease note\, The weekend of August 29-30 my work will be at her studio for you to see and I will be at her studio on Sept 5-7th labor day weekend. \nAndrea Allen\,  recent move to Gualala has totally fulfilled her passion for being part of a fantastic art community and continuing her painting while looking out of her studio window at the magnificent ocean.  Allen is incredibly inspired to incorporate all these new visual and sensory experiences into her work\, while continuing to utilize all the traditional Chinese techniques\, balanced with a subtle contemporary flair.  Ancient symbolism and philosophy continue to influence Allen’s work\, enhancing the feeling of vital energy and serenity.  The overall effect is for the viewer to be effortlessly invited into each painting\, experiencing a peaceful balance and harmony in a timeless continuum. \nLing-Yen is well known in the northern California artist community for her expertly crafted\, precious metal and semi-precious gemstone rings\, pendants\, brooches\, necklaces\, and earrings. \nMany of her pieces are conceived in elegant\, Oriental motifs\, and constitute a hallmark of her unique artistic expression. \nLing-Yen’s jewelry is made to fit all ranges of a fine jewelry spectrum\, from low-cost\, casual everyday accessories\, to that special\, high fashion\, treasure. \nJane paints in multiple layers of acrylics and various modeling pastes and plasters\, sometimes adding textured or hand-printed papers\, building colorful dimensional and complex surfaces with a more abstracted finish. She also makes hand-built ceramics adding whimsical birds flowers and animals to her pieces which are both sculptural and useful. \n
