Let’s raise a glass (or two!) to all of the artists who participate in the festival and the wonderful judges who donate their time and energy! \nFor the 57th year\, enjoy the works of more than 30 artists and artisans\, many known locals on the coast and some from as far away as Grass Valley\, San Francisco\, Vallejo\, and Berkeley. All are happy to take a moment to help you find just what you’re looking for and to explain their craft and the joy they find in\nmaking their art. It’s a fun\, friendly atmosphere for buying and selling art on the coast!

DESCRIPTION:Location:\nUniversity Avenue between High & Webster Streets\nPalo Alto\, California (West)Event Dates: August 25\, 2018 – August 26\, 2018\n\n\n10 am to 6 pm both days. I will be in booth 324.\n\n\nwww.mlaproductions.com/PaloAlto/\n\n\nThe backbone of the festival and the key to its success are the three hundred fine artists and crafters whose display booths are placed back-to-back along University Avenue. These exhibitors are the reason why this festival attracts such a high percentage of fine artists and crafters whose work you’ll see only at a few select shows on the West Coast. \nAnd don’t forget to stop by and listen to sidewalk piano virtuosos. Located on the plaza at the corner of University & Tasso Streets: Chopin and Chandeliers. For more info. \nAnd\, always a crowd-pleaser\, the Italian Street Painting Expo\, sponsored by the Palo Alto Weekly\, will again offer sixty chalk artists creating larger-than-life works of art all weekend long on Tasso Street. This year’s beneficiary of the funds raised by the Italian Street Painting Expo is Palo Alto’s Youth Community Service. \nLocal participation is high at this event. The Palo Alto Parents & Professionals for Art are the organizers and beneficiaries of the kids’ art & crafts area called the Kids’ Art Studio. Also\, the Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto will again manage and serve the micro-brews and fine wines that can be found throughout the festival. \nPLEASE NOTE: the City of Palo Alto has a ban on the use of plastic & paper bags for carrying purchased merchandise. The Chamber of Commerce highly recommends that festival attendees bring their own tote bags for easy transportation of multiple purchases. \nFor those driving to the festival\, free parking is within a block or two of the festival site\, with parking for disabled patrons in all city lots. Festival attendees though are encouraged to use public transit or ride a bike. For transit information go to 511.org. \nIf you are a dog owner thinking about bringing “Cuddles” to the festival\, please reconsider. Large crowds can easily make a typically mellow dog very anxious & sometimes aggressive. \nCheck out last year’s promotional clip for a live overview of the festival.

DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Studio Discovery Tour takes place on Labor Day weekend (August 31 – September 2) and the weekend before (August 24 – 25) ~ Studios open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. \nThis free\, self-guided tour along breathtakingly scenic coastal Highway 1\, from Cazadero to Point Arena\, is the perfect way to spend a leisurely day or an entire weekend. The artists you meet along the way are happy to demonstrate the making of their art and share their unique vision. \nI will be joining Andrea Allen at her studio on 33620 Highway one\, Gualala. It is about a half a mile north of Fish Rock Rd..
