DESCRIPTION:Please come see the up-and-coming Mendocino art Center 2022 Sister city Exchange Show. \nThe Japanese artists from Omachi will have their works as well as Mendocino County artists. \nPlease see our website for the exhibitors.https://www.mendocinoartcenter.org/exhibitions/mendocino-sister-city-exhibit \nhttps://www.mm-artexchange.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n　サンフランシスコから車で約 3 時間。 レッドウッドの森をはじめとする自然豊かな山稜を背にした太平洋を臨む崖の上の台地にメンドシーノの街はあります。 メンドシーノ周辺には風光明媚な環境を求めアーティストやクラフトマンが多く集まり、多くのギャラリーが立地し、 アートが感じられる町として全米から訪れる人も多いところです。 \n  メンドシーノの町と旧美麻村( 現・大町市)は1980 年、 メンドシーノアートセンターの創設者ビル・ザッカ氏 (Bill Zacha) と版画家・吉田遠志氏を通じて国際姉妹村として締結がなされて以来、交流が続いています。 2008 年からは、 メンドシーノのアーティストと松本、安曇野、大町地区の作家たちを中心に毎年隔年で相互訪問の交流展を続け、今回で14 周年を迎えました。 \n  このような芸術分野での国際交流は、風土や文化背景の異なる国の人々が創作の世界においてさまざまな刺激を受ける機会となり、 創造の意欲や新たな取組みを進める大きなきっかけとなっています。 この芸術交流が今後さらに広がり、互いの国の地域文化創造の可能性が大きく広がることを期待しています。 \n\n\nThree hours away from San Francisco by car lies Mendocino. A city on a plateau overlooking the Pacific with a rich natural mountain range and beautiful Redwood forests. In the area surrounding Mendocino\, many artists and craftsmen dwell\, seeking a place of scenic beauty. Since there are many galleries\, people from all over the country visit the area to see the art. \nMendocino and Miasa have been sustaining an exchange since Bill Zacha\, who established the Mendocino Art Center\, and Toshi Yoshida\, a woodblock printer\, created a sister city relationship in 1980. They began an exchange exhibition to allow for the artistic exchange between the artists of the Mendocino area\, and the artists of Omachi\, Azumino and Matsumoto in 2008. This year marks its 14th anniversary. An international exchange of the artistic world such as this gives people from different cultural backgrounds the opportunity to see all kinds of inspiration and brings motivation for creation\, leading to new projects. We hope that this art exchange will develop further and that the possibilities of locally created culture in both of our countries will continue to expand. \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:  All Tour artists are showing in the Discovery Gallery’s two-month preview of the Studio Discovery Tour held in the late Summer.\nVisiting the Preview Show is a great way to plan your Studio Tour schedule. Artists’ bios will be posted\, and the gallery’s knowledgeable staff can direct you to the sites and services of our coastal paradise.\nAll previewed art pieces will be for sale. Your gallery hosts will also have free tour brochures and flyers while supplies last.\nFrom July 8 to August 26\, and on the week of August 29 to September 2\, the gallery will be open for its regular hours of 10 am to 4 pm and closed on Wednesdays. During the two tour weekends\, August 27 and 28 and September 3\, 4\, and 5\, the gallery will be open 10 am to 5pm. \nThe Discovery Gallery is located at\n31940 S. SUMMARY:30th Annual Studio Discovery Tour August 27-28 & Sept 3-5\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:At this point\, we are a “GO” for a live 2022 Tour! \nThe successes of the 2021 Tour were welcome in the shadow of the ongoing pandemic. We learned that we can have a successful brochure without advertising\, that cell phones can be useful\, that being part of the Discovery Gallery makes a huge difference\, all of which raises the bar on our expectations for the upcoming season. The big lesson was that we can be “pandemic safe” and have our commerce\, too\, if we are diligent. What works for everybody is getting fully vaccinated (that includes the booster)\, masking appropriately\, distancing\, controlling our gatherings\, do as much outside as we can\, and minimizing visits into our tight indoor spaces. We are all used to this\, and our customers feel safe as well. \nLing-Yen designs will be at Siobhan’s as a guest artist \n25215 Ten Mile Road Point Arena\, CA 95468 \nDirections from Hwy 1 at mile marker 15.12 in Point Arena\, Go east on River Road/Eureka Hill Road for about three miles.
